Shipping
For your convenience we offer two choices for getting your order. You can arrange to have the books shipped to your home (you'll pay an additional shipping and handling charge) or, for no extra charge, you can arrange to pick up your order at the HPU Bookstore location of your choice (Downtown, Hawaii Loa, Schofield, Kaneohe, Camp Smith, Tripler, Hickam, or Pearl Harbor).
Orders For Pickup
There is no additional cost for orders being picked up at any HPU campus bookstore. In most cases, your order will be ready for pick-up at the Downtown campus by 4:00 pm of the following business day. You will be notified via e-mail as soon as it is ready. If the item(s) you requested are on backorder you will receive an e-mail with the estimated time of arrival. You can cancel any backorder by calling us at 808-544-0290 or e-mailing us at bookstore@hpu.edu.
For orders being picked up at an HPU campus other than Downtown, please allow an additional business day.
We are not responsible for any unclaimed orders for pick-up once the term has completed. Unclaimed orders for pick-up are always subject to our refund policy and not eligible for refund once the refund period has passed.
Items being shipped direct from the vendor are not eligible for pick-up in the store.
Orders For Delivery On Oahu - Oahu Courier
There is a shipping and handling charge of $7.95 for the first item and $1.00 for each additional item. We can not use this method for delivery to a P.O. or APO box. In most cases, your order will take approximately 3 to 5 business days to get to you. We will send you an e-mail as soon as your order ships along with a tracking number (if applicable). If the item(s) you requested are on backorder you will receive an e-mail with the estimated time of arrival. You can cancel any backorder by calling us at 808-544-0290 or e-mailing us at bookstore@hpu.edu.
Orders For Delivery By U.S. Priority Mail (Oahu, Outer Island or North America)
There is a shipping and handling charge of $7.95 for the first item and $1.00 for each additional item. In most cases, your order will take approximately 1 to 3 weeks for delivery. We will send you an e-mail as soon as your order ships. If the item(s) you requested are on backorder you will receive an e-mail with the estimated time of arrival. You can cancel any backorder by calling us at 808-544-0290 or e-mailing us at bookstore@hpu.edu.
Orders for Delivery by FedEx 2nd Day
For Outer Islands or North America only. There is a shipping and handling charge of $16.95 for the first item and $2.00 for each additional item. We can not use this method to ship to P.O. or APO boxes. In most cases, your order will take approximately 3 to 5 days for delivery. We will send you an e-mail as soon as your order ships along with a tracking number. If the item(s) you requested are on backorder you will receive an e-mail with the estimated time of arrival. Orders for Delivery by FedEx Next Day
For Outer Islands and North America only. There is a shipping and handling charge of $21.95 for the first item and $2.00 for each additional item. We can not use this method to ship to P.O. or APO boxes. In most cases, your order will take approximately 2 to 3 days for delivery. We will send you an e-mail as soon as your order ships along with a tracking number. If the item(s) you requested are on backorder you will receive an e-mail with the estimated time of arrival. Orders for International Delivery via USPS
There is a shipping and handling charge of $27.00 for the first item and $2.00 for each additional item. If the items being ordered are extremely light or small and shipping charges are significantly less, we will lower the shipping charges accordingly. Orders being sent to other countries will take approximately 12 to 15 business days. We will send you an e-mail as soon as your order ships. If the item(s) you requested are on backorder you will receive an e-mail with the estimated time of arrival. Orders for International Delivery via FedEx
There is a shipping and handling charge of $35.00 for the first item and $2.00 for each additional item. If the item(s) being ordered are extremely light or small and shipping charges are significantly less, we will lower the shipping charges accordingly. Bonus Cards
Books can be very expensive but you can save money with this great loyalty program. For every $10.00 you spend on qualified merchandise you get a stamp on your card. With 20 stamps, or a filled card, you get $10 off of your next purchase. Watch the savings add up as you buy your books! Below are some frequently asked questions:
1. What is considered qualified merchandise?
You can receive stamps, and redeem cards, for the purchase of any textbook and regular-priced logo item as well as backpacks and regular-priced software. You will not get stamps (and you can not redeem stamps) for items that are sold at cost or below cost, such as sale items, computer equipment, iPods, shipping, caps & gowns, movie tickets, bus passes, UPasses, and HLC parking.
2. I have several partially stamped cards can I use them?
We'll be happy to consolidate your stamps at any time.
3. What happens if I lose my bonus card?
Sorry, but we can't replace any lost, stolen, or mutilated bonus cards.
4. What if I want to redeem my bonus card, but the item I want to purchase is only $9?
The bookstore bonus cards have no cash value and with just $1 left over from your purchase there is not enough to earn another stamp. You can either purchase another item to take you closer to the $10 redemption value or you can just use the bonus card for your $9 purchase and forfeit the additional $1 value.
5. What if I bought something with both bonus cards and credit card and now want to return it?
Upon return of this item, you will be given completely stamped bonus cards to match the amount you redeemed and credit against your card for the amount that was charged (all refund policies would apply).
6. What if I forgot to get stamps for an item I purchased earlier?
We will only stamp your card at the time of purchase. Please remember to present your card for stamps at the register or ask for a new card when you make your purchase.
7. How many Bonus Cards can I redeem at a time?
You can redeem up to 3 Bonus Cards per day, for up to $30 savings!

Return/Refund Policy
Textbooks
Receipt required for a refund! A proper receipt must be presented. We are unable to process any refund without a proper receipt.
7 calendar days to return books: Textbooks purchased on or five weeks before the first day of class may be returned through the first 7 calendar days of the term. Textbooks purchased after the first day of the term may be returned up to 7 calendar days from the date of purchase. Students dropping the class can return their resaleable books during the first three weeks of the term with their receipt and drop slip. Once the refund deadline has passed, other options that are available are: a) selling the book on your own to another student, b) selling your book via the online buyback service available on our website at www.hpu.edu/bookstore, c) try to sell your book back to the Bookstore during their next Book Buyback event.
Cancelled or dropped classes can return books through the first 3 weeks of the term: Textbooks purchased on or five weeks before the first day of class may be returned through the first three weeks of the term if still in resaleable condition and if presented with a proper receipt and drop slip or cancellation letter.
If unreturnable to the publisher, it is yours to keep: Refunds cannot be given on new or used books when the book is not returnable by the Bookstore to the publisher (package opened, drink spilled on it, etc.).
Digital books: Once your eBook card has been activated it is not returnable. Unactivated eBook cards are eligible for a 100% refund with a receipt if bought within the purchasing period of the term and returned by the last day to drop classes without a W grade for the same term.
Defective books: An exchange will be given for books which are defective, providing that a receipt from the current term is presented. We will try to provide the same quality text (used or new) if possible. However, if that is not possible, any differences in price are the responsibility of the customer.
HPU Bookstore is not responsible for any unclaimed orders for pick-up once the term has completed. Unclaimed orders for pick-up are always subject to our refund policy and not eligible for a refund once the refund period has passed.
Software, Electronics, & Media
Software, electronics, and media purchased from the Bookstore may be returned for a full refund with a proper receipt within 30 days only if the item is defective and if the registration materials have not been filled out. The item will have to be tested before we issue a refund, anticipate a one business day delay. Otherwise, software, electronics, and media are not returnable once the box or package has been opened.
Logo Items
Logo items purchased from the Bookstore may be returned for a full refund with a proper receipt within 90 days if all tags and labels are still intact and the merchandise is still in new and resalable condition. Merchandise credit will be offered for returns without a receipt. An exchange will be given for any defective merchandise.
Other Merchandise
There are no refunds on bus passes, movie tickets, wireless cards, diskettes, gift certificates, and graduation caps & gowns.
Shipping
Only the cost of the merchandise will be refunded. Any shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer. If the bookstore has shipped an item not ordered and we are notified during the refund period then all shipping costs for that item will be refunded.
