Refund Policy
Textbooks
Receipt required for a refund! A proper receipt must be
presented. We are unable to process any refund without a proper
receipt.
7 calendar days to return books: Textbooks purchased on or
five weeks before the first day of class may be returned through the
first 7 calendar days of the term. Textbooks purchased after the
first day of the term may be returned up to 7 calendar days from the
date of purchase. Students dropping the class can return their
resaleable books during the first three weeks of the term with their
receipt and drop slip. Once the refund deadline has passed, other
options that are available are: a) selling the book on your own to
another student, b) selling your book via the online buyback service
available on our website at
www.hpu.edu/bookstore,
c) try to sell your book back to the Bookstore during their next
Book Buyback event.
Cancelled or dropped classes can return books through the first 3
weeks of the term: Textbooks purchased on or five weeks before
the first day of class may be returned through the first three weeks
of the term if still in resaleable condition and if presented with a
proper receipt and drop slip or cancellation letter.
If
unreturnable to the publisher, it is yours to keep: Refunds
cannot be given on new or used books when the book is not returnable
by the Bookstore to the publisher (package opened, drink spilled on
it, etc.).
Digital books: Once your eBook card has been activated it is
not returnable. Unactivated eBook cards are eligible for a 100%
refund with a receipt if bought within the purchasing period of the
term and returned by the last day to drop classes without a W grade
for the same term.
Defective
books: An exchange will be given for books which are defective,
providing that a receipt from the current term is presented.
We will try to provide the same quality text (used or new) if
possible. However, if that is not possible, any differences in
price are the responsibility of the customer.
HPU Bookstore is not responsible for any
unclaimed orders for pick-up once the term has completed.
Unclaimed orders for pick-up are always subject to our refund policy
and not eligible for a refund once the refund period has passed.
Software, Electronics, & Media
Software, electronics, and media purchased from the Bookstore may be
returned for a full refund with a proper receipt within 30 days only
if the item is defective and if the registration materials have not
been filled out. The item will have to be tested before we issue a
refund, anticipate a one business day delay. Otherwise, software,
electronics, and media are not returnable once the box or package
has been opened.
Logo Items
Logo items purchased from the Bookstore may be returned for a full
refund with a proper receipt within 90 days if all tags and labels
are still intact and the merchandise is still in new and resalable
condition. Merchandise credit will be offered for returns without a
receipt. An exchange will be given for any defective merchandise.
Other Merchandise
There are no refunds on bus passes, movie
tickets, wireless cards, diskettes, gift certificates, and graduation caps & gowns.
Shipping
Only the cost of the merchandise will be
refunded. Any shipping costs are the responsibility of the
customer. If the bookstore has shipped an item not ordered and
we are notified during the refund period then all shipping costs for
that item will be refunded.

Please keep in mind that we are not
responsible if the item you want to return is lost in transit.
Also, your return will be subject to our refund policy so the amount
of the refund (if any) will depend upon when we receive your
shipment and the reason for the return.
